HP Officejet 8028e connected to MacBook Pro running OS11.  The up to date installed HP Smart has no option to select 2 sided scanning that I could find anywhere!!  Frustrating step backword from previous version!  😞

Hi @Orion22,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your frustration. It's possible that the updated HP Smart software might have changed the way certain features are accessed or displayed. To troubleshoot the issue and find the 2-sided scanning option, you can try the following steps.

  • Check for Software Updates: Make sure that both your HP Smart software and your MacBook Pro's operating system are up to date. Sometimes, updates include bug fixes or improvements to functionality.
  • Review HP Smart Settings: Open HP Smart on your MacBook Pro and look for settings related to scanning. It's possible that the 2-sided scanning option might be located in a different section or under advanced settings.
  • Use HP Easy Scan: HP Easy Scan is another software that HP provides for scanning purposes. Check if it's installed on your MacBook Pro. Open HP Easy Scan and see if the 2-sided scanning option is available there.
  • Visit HP Support Website: Go to the HP support website and look for the latest software and drivers for your specific printer model. Download and install any available updates or alternative scanning software that might offer the 2-sided scanning feature.
  • Check Printer's Control Panel: Some printers have a control panel with settings that can be adjusted directly on the device. Check the printer's control panel for any scanning options, including 2-sided scanning.
  • Review Documentation: Consult the user manual or documentation that came with your printer. It may provide specific instructions on how to enable 2-sided scanning.

Remember that software interfaces can vary, and sometimes features are moved or redesigned in newer versions. By exploring different avenues and checking for updates, you should be able to find the 2-sided scanning option for your HP Officejet 8028e.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
