Hi @lino1231,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Experiencing a paper jam while scanning with your Officejet Pro 6830 can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Turn off the printer: Before doing anything else, turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source to avoid any electrical accidents.
  • Check for jammed paper: Open the printer cover and carefully remove any jammed paper or debris that you can see. Make sure to check all areas of the printer, including the paper tray, input and output trays, and the print carriage.
  • Clear paper path: Use a flashlight to check for any small pieces of paper or debris that may be obstructing the paper path. Remove any obstructions carefully.
  • Inspect rollers: Check the rollers inside the printer for any damage or debris. Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol if necessary.
  • Reset the printer: After clearing any jams and cleaning the printer, plug it back in and turn it on. Reset the printer by turning it off, waiting for a few minutes, and then turning it back on.
  • Check paper type and condition: Make sure you are using the correct type and size of paper for scanning. Damaged or wrinkled paper can also cause jams, so use fresh, undamaged paper.
  • Adjust paper guides: Ensure that the paper guides in the paper tray are correctly aligned with the paper size to prevent misfeeds.
  • Update printer firmware: Check for and install any available firmware updates for your printer. Sometimes, firmware updates include fixes for paper jam issues.
  • Try scanning again: After completing the above steps, try scanning again to see if the issue has been resolved.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve paper jam issues when scanning with your OfficeJet Pro 6830 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
