Hi @CPD-510,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding PIN recovery!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The PIN required for scanning on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e is usually related to either HP Smart App account verification, Administrator settings, or Embedded Web Server (EWS) security. Here’s how you can retrieve it:

1. Check the Printer Control Panel for the PIN

  • On the printer touchscreen, go to:
    SettingsPrinter MaintenanceAdministrator Settings
  • Look for PIN or Administrator Password
  • If a PIN is set, you may need to reset it if forgotten.

2. Obtain the PIN from the HP Smart App

  • If your printer is linked to HP Smart, the PIN may be associated with your HP Account.
  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or phone.
  • Navigate to Printer SettingsSecurity and check if a PIN is listed or required.

3. Check the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  1. Find your printer’s IP address:
    • On the printer touchscreen, go to SettingsNetwork SetupView IP Address.
  2. Open a web browser and enter the IP address (e.g., http://192.168.1.100).
  3. Go to SettingsSecurity and check if a PIN or password is required.

4. Reset the Administrator PIN (if needed)

If the PIN has been set and forgotten, a factory reset may be required:

  1. Restore Printer Defaults
    • SettingsPrinter MaintenanceRestore Defaults
    • Choose Restore Network Defaults (if needed)
