OfficeJet 5220 digital Fax suddenly not save files

Hi All,
Our office have new installed OfficeJet 5220 as fax machine, not for printing, just receive fax, so we connected to a win7 notebook installed HP software by digital fax function to save papers.
It worked fine for around 2 weeks, suddenly the PC cannot communicate with the printer, I have upgraded the OS to Win10, remove the software and reinstall again, reset the printer, still not working, the Digital Wizard is working fine without error or warning, just no file saved in the output folder.

Not sure what is going wrong.

Welcome to HP support community.

 

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware

Hi Sandy,

I have preformed firmware upgrade, WinOS 10 upgraded to 1909, I have installed HP Assistant, HPSmart, all the official software from HP, not working.

 

Yesterday, Unplugged the power when the printer idle, this morning printed out 2 received fax, but no files saved in local folder shared to local user with full control.

 

I try everything I know, but not working even uninstall and install, change PC, still the same result, is it the printer hardware problem?

This might require remote access of the computer to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
