We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I was able to connect with HP Smart app once and scanned a document, then I went to scan another document and it gave me an error message "scanning is currently unavailable" or "couldn't connect to scanner". Not sure what I'm missing.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

 

Try these steps:

Ensure Network Connection: Make sure your printer and device are connected to the same network. Double-check that your Wi-Fi signal is strong and stable.

Restart Router and Devices: Restart your Wi-Fi router, printer, and computer or mobile device to clear any possible error conditions.

Check Printer Status:

  • Printer is on: Ensure that the printer is powered on and ready.
  • Wi-Fi Signal: Look for a light next to a Wireless icon or button with an active signal.

Disconnect and Reconnect Printer:

  • For printers with a touchscreen: Open the Wireless or Setup menu, select Network Setup or Settings, and then choose Restore Network Settings.
  • For printers without a touchscreen: Use the control panel buttons to restore the Wi-Fi setup mode.

Set Up Printer Again: Within 2 hours, reconnect the HP Smart app. If prompted, follow the instructions to set up the printer again as it was added previously.

 

Sign In to HP Smart Account: Make sure you are signed in to your HP Smart app account. This can sometimes resolve missing advanced features or connectivity issues.

 

Bluetooth Settings: Enable Bluetooth on your device so that the HP Smart app can detect the printer during setup.

Location Services: Enable the location services on your mobile device and allow the app to use your location for setup.

 

  1. Unable to Connect to Scanner: If you receive messages indicating the scanner is unavailable:
    • Check that the printer is not in sleep mode or turned off.
    • Ensure the printer firmware and the HP Smart app are up to date.
    • Verify that no other devices are trying to use the printer simultaneously.
