Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

It is still printing fine, but there are troubles with scanning.

First, the automatic feeder for scanning documents stopped working. Ok I use the glass.

Now, the scan to my computer stopped working, though I tried multiple times.

A message shows up

"Photo to File quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."  Reopening or report ... nothing but waste of time. 

The same happens with documents.

I 've tried restarting the printer device or the computer, but nothing .. the same message

Could you please tell me if there is any solution?

Removing the existing Scanner Application and then installing HP Easy Scan may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1.) Open Finder, click Applications.

2.) Delete the existing HP scanner applications by moving it to trash.

3.) Download and install HP Easy Scan from here

Thanks for your kind and quick reply!

The strange thing is that the existing application HP scan 3 shows that it was last opened 3 years before! 

So, I thought to try it before deleting and ... what a miracle ! It works ....

But, the scanner with Utilities HP 8600 All in One still doesn't work.

However your answer definitely gave me a solution in practice and I thank you for this.
