The firmware update MANHTNPP1N002.2128.00 of 2021-07-08 has introduced an error to the scan settings that should have been caught by quality and regression testing.
1. From the first screen HP Smart, select "Scan".
2. The settings default to "Preview", not "Scan".
3. Change Source from "Scanner Glass" to "Document Feeder".
4. Scan a document and watch the top left of the screen. The "back" arrow is labelled "Scan" at the start, but changes to "Preview" at the end of the scan.
5. Click on the back arrow, now labelled "Preview".
6. Before the next scan, and before every scan, you must change the Source setting from "Scanner Glass" to "Document Feeder".
"Back" should take the user to the previous screen that was used, not to a different function that requires a setting to be changed for every scan. In any case, "Preview" is largely redundant, I find, because "Scan" gives you a preview before you save. The default should be "Scan", if scan is what the user selected.
Can this be corrected in the next release, please

Hi Dragon Fur, and community,
Yes - sorry. I did mean only to ask for advice but expressed it poorly. Having been in the IT QA business in a previous life, I was irked by discovering this feature had been introduced and should have waited a bit before writing.
Thank you for reminding me.
Regards.
