Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

New HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e has send to email as an option on the control panel but it doesn't appear as an option i can configure on the web interface.

I have set up the printer with an SMTP Server configured for google with an app password .   I confirmed it's operation via the built in test where it sent an email to my account.

The problem is I haven't been able to configure the scan to email function with an email address to send the scan to.   I can't find scan to email as an option on the printer's web  interface.

I'd appreciate any suggestions to help get this feature working.

Hi @MontgomeryScott,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out regarding your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e printer. We understand that you've successfully configured the SMTP settings and confirmed email functionality via the built-in test, but you're unable to configure the "Scan to Email" feature through the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

Troubleshooting Steps

To address this issue, please follow the steps below:

  1. Verify Web Services Status:
    • Access the EWS by entering the printer's IP address into a web browser.
    • Navigate to the Web Services tab.
    • Ensure that Web Services are enabled. If not, enable them.

Access Scan Settings:

  • In the EWS, click on the Scan tab.
  • Look for the Scan to Email option. If it's not visible, proceed to the next step.

Use the HP Smart App for Configuration:

  • Download and install the HP printer setup (HP Smart app) | HP® Support on your computer or mobile device.
  • Open the app and add your printer.
  • Navigate to the Scan section and select Scan to Email.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the feature.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date.
  • In the EWS, go to the Tools or Web Services tab and check for firmware updates.
  • Install any available updates and restart the printer.

Factory Reset (if necessary):

  • If the issue persists, consider performing a factory reset:
    • On the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
    • Confirm the reset and allow the printer to restart.
  • Note: This will erase all settings and configurations.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
