Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Officejet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One

When I scan a document through the document feeder of my Officejet Pro Wide Format All-in-One, the resulting pdf has a vertical faint black line about 2.5" from the left margin. If I scan both sides of the document, the line  appears only on the front side (p.1,3, etc.).  SEE PHOTOS Below.

  • I followed the process suggested by a helpful solution for a similar machine. I cleaned both the upper and lower  scanner feed  glasses on the left of the machine about 6-7 times and each time I got the same result in the pdf (which of course if printed has the line in the printed copy.)  If I simply COPY a multi-sided document from the ADF, there is NO streak. It only happens on one side of the page with the scanner.
  • I have also cleaned the rollers as directed in the multi-step instructions on this website. (More below the images.)

  • Could there be dust UNDER the glass? If so, could it be repaired? My machine is just 3 years old but the warranty has expired. This began a few months ago when I first used the ADF function for scanning, but only recently have I needed it more and more often.  I love this machine except for this problem when I need to make a pdf of a multipaged document. (I place each side of each page on the scanner glass and scan from my computer separately.)
  • This happens when I scan either from my computer (wireless connection) or directly from the printer controls using the ADF. Thanks for any info. This problem has not been addressed in other questions or solutions.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are getting vertical lines when you scan using the ADF.

 

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
