Officejet Pro 8610
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!  Out of the blue, my scanner isn't working (though my printer still is).  😞  Unfortunately my scanner is critical to my work.  When I try to scan, it says "No computer found" .  When I go to the hp printer assistant, it says "The hp Officejet Pro8610 was not found".    I've also tried:

1-restarting computer

2-turning off/on 8610

3-unplugging for 60 seconds/replugging 8610

4-downloading and running the hp "scan doctor" application (several times).

5-uninstalling and re-installing 8610 software

I am at my wit's end and really need my scanner!  😞  Pls help if possible.

@mkecheryl, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are not able to scan. Are you scanning from the printer screen or using the software on the computer?

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Do you have the full-feature printer driver installed on the computer?

Open HP Printer Assistant > Go to Scan > Manage Scan to computer > Enable

Try scanning.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
