My outgoing fax stopped working on my all-in-one printer.  I can receive faxes.  It always gets a busy signal even on the HP fax test number.  I ran the fax test on the printer and it says everything is working.   I can hear a dial tone.  I don't know of any maintenance lately that could have affected it.  I have been on Windows 10 for a couple of years.  How can I tell if the fax is broken and I just need to replace the printer?

I have tried all the steps in the document and it will still not send a fax.  I have received a fax in the last few days so I know the line is working and connected properly.  Every fax I send gets a busy signal, even to the HP FAX Test number.  The fax test shows every test passed and the settings are as they should be.  What else can I check or do?  Thanks for your help.

You can probably reset the fax settings and set it up all over again.

I know I tried this before and it didn't work, but I changed the ECM to off and the speed to low and was able to send a fax.  I sent a fax to HP fax test service and received a return fax.   I don't understand why I had to do this after being able to fax on the same printer for at least 3 years without these changes.  So I reset the ECM to on and the speed to high and tried again.  The first dialing didn't go through but the second try was successful.  So I guess the problem is fixed.  Thanks for your help.
