My printer goes offline about 30 minutes after restart.  My computer will not bring it out of offline status.  So I'm unable to print/scan/etc...  I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, upgrade/restore firmware, & HP fix software which just ends up showing the printer offline.  Connected via wifi due to location.  I have two other similar models and they work fine.

Any suggestions?

There could be a couple of factors at play here. If the printer wakes up by touching the control panel but does not respond to network requests until rebooted then I would look at the port type that the printer driver is configured on. On the computer, go to control panel>devices and printers and right click on the icon for your printer and then click on the ports tab and check the port type you are connecting the printer with. If the port name starts with WSD the you are using a Microsoft managed printer port and honestly they are very poor at responding when a device goes to sleep and typically lose communication until rebooted. The more reliable option for network is to use a Standard TCP/IP port. When configuring the port, rather than using the IP address of the printer, use the network host name of the printer so that the computer will find the printer, even if the IP address changes.

If the printer does not wake up when touching the control panel, try performing a factory reset on the printer.

Thank you for the suggestions.  The screen does come up, so I tried changing the port change as you described.  That did not work, so uninstalled the printer and added back on with TCP/IP, that started to work but then like before just stops communicating.

I notice about 2 minutes after a reboot of the printer there is a click sound and I can no longer alter settings, print, etc...

Super frustrating.  Any other suggestions?
