Out of Paper.   However it isn't.  I have cleaned all the rollers, I have unplugged and reset it.  I hear the rollers moving but it isn't picking up the paper.  There is not any paper jammed in it also.

Hi @Dee5250

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like you've already taken some excellent steps to troubleshoot the issue.

If your HP Officejet Pro 6830 keeps displaying the "Out of Paper" message despite having paper loaded and no jams, here are a few additional troubleshooting steps that might help:

1. Check the Paper

  • Paper Quality: Ensure you're using fresh, clean, and standard printer paper (20-24 lb). Avoid wrinkled, damp, or curled paper.
  • Paper Alignment: Make sure the stack is properly aligned and not overloaded in the tray. Fan the paper to separate the sheets slightly before loading it.

2. Adjust Paper Tray

  • Paper Size Guides: Confirm that the side and front paper guides are snug against the paper without squeezing it. Improperly adjusted guides can prevent the rollers from gripping the paper.
  • Load Fewer Sheets: If the tray is filled to capacity, try loading only 10-15 sheets to see if it makes a difference.

3. Deep Clean the Rollers

  • Even though you've cleaned the rollers, consider cleaning them again thoroughly:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled or filtered water.
    • Clean both the pickup rollers (in the input tray area) and the feed rollers (inside the printer) gently but thoroughly.
    • Allow the rollers to dry completely before plugging the printer back in.

4. Reset Printer to Factory Defaults

  • Perform a reset to clear any software glitches:
    • On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Settings.
    • Reconfigure the printer and test printing again.

5. Check for Printer Updates

  • Ensure the printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP Support website and download any available firmware updates for the HP Officejet Pro 6830.

6. Perform a Test with Manual Feeder

  • If your printer has a manual feed slot, try loading a single sheet and printing to check if the printer can pick up the paper from there. This test may help isolate the issue to the main tray.

7. Paper Sensor Issue

  • If none of the above works, the paper sensor inside the printer may be misaligned or faulty. This would require professional repair or servicing.
