Outgoing Email Profiles

HP Recommended
HP Officejet Pro 8620
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

My email password has changed. I entered my IP address within my browser to get to my Embedded Web Server. I selected the Scan tab and then select Outgoing Email Profiles. I keep getting the following error "Network connection error. Check network and try again." even though my network status indicates I am connected.

Can anyone advise how I can update my email password? Same thing happens if I try to add a new email.

Hi @StaciH41,

I'd like to help!

follow the below steps -

1. Find out the IP address or hostname of the printer by touching (Wireless) or (Ethernet) or by printing a network configuration page.

Note: The printer must be on a network and must have an IP address.

2. In a supported web browser on your computer, type the IP address of the printer. For example, if the IP address is 123.123.123.123

Note: If you get a security message as "your connection is not private", click on Advanced and proceed to this website.

Step 2: On the printer settings page, go to Scan > scan to email > Select your email address > Edit > Authenticate > Email login authentication > Input new password > Next > Save and Test

Try an RPC to resolve the connectivity issue and see if that helps.

  1. Turn the printer off, and then wait 10 seconds.
  2. Disconnect the printer power cord from the printer.
  3. Turn off the computer or the device you are trying to print from.
  4. Connect the printer power cord to the printer, and then turn on the printer.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from your wireless router, and then wait 10 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the router. Wait until Internet service is restored. Internet service is interrupted while the router is off.
  7. Turn on the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
