Hi @HBGBILL1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with printing on your printer from the new laptop.
Are you able to make a copy on the printer standalone? (Place an original document on the scanner glass and make a copy to confirm hardware is working fine)
To understand the issue and help you, please share the details listed below:
- Exact model number/product number(SKU number) of your HP Product (Click herefor information on how to find the model number/product number).
- Error messages or Blinking lights (if any) on the unit.
- May I know which application are you using to print?
- How is the printer connected to your new laptop? (Wireless or USB cable)
Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
Take care and have a great day ahead!

Thank you for your response. I spent over 4 hours Sunday and Monday trying to connect my HP printer to my new ASUS laptop. Print and scan doctor had me unplugging, etc, etc and nothing worked. HP smart also was unhelpful. No ability to contact an HP support after the virtual assistant was unhelpful. This forum was only way to seek assistance. Two days later...now I hear from support. In the meantime, I learned HP no longer supports my printer. Therefore, I bought a new Epson printer and will never purchase an HP product again.
