I keep getting a message that says the paper tray is open, but it is not. There is NO paper stuck or anything else blocking the tray. What can I do?

Check for any obstructions or damages on the tray/tray path.
Reset the printer
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Also, perform the steps mentioned in this document - Paper Jam Error
Make sure the papers are correctly placed in the input tray as shown in - Loading Paper, Cards, and Envelopes
