HP Officejet Pro 8030 Series Printer

Last night I was scanning documents through the HP Scan software when all of a sudden the printer got a blue screen with error B80009BC. I had to reboot the printer and then I was able to resume scanning. It happened twice. Any advice for the future. My IOS is macOS Big Sur Version 11.1.

@Priscilla67

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Step 1: Update the router firmware
  • Step 2: Find your router IP Address
  • Step 3: Restore printer network defaults
  • Step 4: Connect to your printer using HP Wireless Direct or Wi-Fi Direct
  • Step 5: Assign an IP address to your printer
  • Click here: https://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/c04760896 to complete the troubleshooting steps.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

@Kate**bleep**, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

To assist you better, are you able to print fine?

Does this error appear intermittently?

Are you using a MAC or Win PC?

For now, reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

Dear Echo lake

This error B80009BC blue error on the display of the HP office Pro 8024 all in one printer when scanning is exactly what you described in your post.

I am using a Windows laptop and the printer is plugged to the wall.

If i put a cable between the router and the printer so not use wifi would this resolve the problem?

Thanks

Please read data lake (HP employee post above)

I am using windows as operating system on laptop.

The printer and router are plugged into the wall for power.  The question is do i put a cable between printer and the router so not use wifi and avoid this problem with the blue error on printer display B80009BC when scanning and the printer freezes.

Please advise or can you ask data_lake hp employee please?

Thanks

Yes, you may connect a USB cable between the printer and the PC and check if that helps.

Also, let us turn off IPv6

Use the control panel to turn off the IPv6 setting.

  1. From the home screen on the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Network Setup, and then touch Advanced Settings.

  3. Turn off IPv6, and then touch Yes to confirm.

Try scanning and check.

P.s: The info I asked for is not mentioned on echo_lake's post as the original poster was not you. The solution provided by him is on the same thread as you can see.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your reply and email.

Is it the Ipv6 or the IPV4 that needs to be de-activated as echo_lake mentions IPV4 ?

Why does IPV6 need to be deactivated?

Thanks

Thank you for posting back.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help.
IPv6 will protect internal traffic more efficiently. However, for your printer, you need to disable IPV6 settings.
