We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I was scanning documents when the error code B80009BC appeared and the menu below was flashing. I couldn't move past it.

Has anyone else had this issue?  If so, was it resolved and how,

Thanks,

@AACSLP, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding an error code while scanning!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Here’s what you can try before concluding it’s a hardware failure:

1. Power cycle (hard reset)

Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Disconnect any USB/Ethernet cables.

Wait at least 60 seconds (this clears residual charge).

Plug it back in and power it on without reconnecting other cables yet.

2. Check for stuck scanner carriage

Lift the scanner lid and see if the light bar/carriage is stuck midway.

If it is, gently move it to the resting position (on the far left/right) with the printer powered off.

3. Update firmware

Go to HP’s Software & Drivers page for your printer model.

Install the latest firmware — sometimes this error comes from a scan engine bug.

4. Try a scan from a different method

If you were scanning from the printer panel, try scanning via the HP Smart app on your PC or phone.

This can sometimes bypass the error if it’s linked to the front panel interface.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
