HP Envy 7640. WiFi connection. Printer working and scanner working until asked for a high resolution scan . That was successful and came out of app. went back into HP smart and asked for scan. Scan will not load. Have done all the tedious thins recommended by HP

    • Ensure that you select the correct settings in the HP app. Sometimes a high-resolution setting can create large files that may take longer to process or complete if there is a connectivity issue.
       
  3. Network Connection:
    • Verify that your WiFi connection is stable. Poor connectivity can lead to issues with scanning and large data transfers.
    • Try moving your printer closer to the WiFi router to improve signal strength.
       
  4. Update Software:
    • Ensure that your HP app and printer firmware are updated to the latest versions. Software updates can resolve bugs and improve functionality.
    • You can check for updates within the HP app or by visiting HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer series | HP® Support to download the latest firmware.
       
  5. Check File Destination:
    • Make sure the file destination for your scans is correctly set and that there is sufficient space available if you are saving it to your hard drive or a connected device.

Thank you Vikram,

As I explained I have tried all the fixes suggested by HP which you lost. However ai may have inadequately explained that I can't even launch the scanner software any more within HP. When I click the icon a circle goes round for ages and it then shows a flag saying it can't be used .
