We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Trying to scan from the HP app. Says “Printer not available.” Blue light is on. Printer will scan to a computer. Powered down, unplugged etc.

Any help is appreciated.

 I find this HP app to be clunky and not user friendly…..

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your HP printer and the HP app. I would request you to please follow the steps:

 

Verify Wi‑Fi Network

  • Make sure your phone/tablet running HP Smart is on the same Wi‑Fi network as the printer.
  • If your router has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, connect both devices to the same band (HP printers often prefer 2.4 GHz).

Restart Everything

  • Power off the printer, router, and your phone/computer.
  • Restart the router first, then the printer, then your device.
  • This clears stale network sessions.

Re‑Add Printer in HP Smart

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Remove the printer from the app.
  • Tap Add Printer and let the app rediscover it.
  • Follow the prompts to reconnect.

Update HP Smart App

  • Make sure you’re using the latest version of HP Smart.
  • Outdated versions often cause “printer not available” errors.

Update Printer Firmware

  • In HP Smart, check for firmware updates.
  • Install any available updates — they often fix connectivity bugs.
