Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Model 8025. Printer prints from the internet or from my files,  It scans and copies from glass but won't copy or scan from the feeder although Paper is recognized as loaded and then feeds properly
I unplugged the machine, waited 3 minutes, held the on button down for 30 seconds, and then replugged it directly into the wall socket. The firmware is up to date. Nothing works

Hi @ffm158,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 is experiencing an issue where the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) isn’t functioning properly despite recognizing that paper is loaded and feeding correctly. Since the problem occurs specifically with copying or scanning from the ADF but not with other functions, here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:

**1. Inspect the Document Feeder

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the ADF cover and inspect the area for any obstructions or paper jams.
  • Gently remove any stuck paper or debris.

Clean the Feeder Rollers:

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly moistened with water to clean the rollers inside the ADF.
  • Allow the rollers to dry completely before closing the ADF cover.

**2. Reset Printer Settings

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall socket.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall socket and then into the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Restore Factory Defaults:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup or Settings.
  • Look for an option like Restore Defaults or Reset.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to restore factory settings.

**3. Check the ADF Settings

Verify Settings:

  • Go to the printer’s control panel and access the copy or scan settings.
  • Ensure that the option to use the ADF is selected.

Test Different Paper Types:

  • Try using different types or sizes of paper to ensure that the issue is not related to the paper type.

**4. Update or Reinstall Drivers

Update Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest drivers and software for your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
