Printer's internal storage

Question regarding printer internal storage.  Do any HP printers store data internally?  Do any printed, scanned documents remain somewhere within the printer memory afterwards?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

For end-user products, I am not aware that data is stored in the internal RAM.
Only products with an "f" = fax, here incoming faxes are stored temporarily until the printout.

Thank you Andr-1611 for helping me understand that this OfficeJet #OJ6700 printer (no "f" in the model number), does not have any capability to store a history of its use once powered off. 

I appreciate your quick response.

Hi @mullemeyer ,

The "f" refers only to Laserjet printers.
For Officejet printers, you should look at the specifications.
You own this printer: HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Printer series - H711 and it has a fax.
If the fax is enabled, then fax buffered when there is no paper in the tray.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Understood regarding the receiving of FAX records.  Am I correct, however, to state that once this printer is powered off, no data can be recovered to show what recent documents were printed on the device.  I have a client that is concerned that his recently printed documents can be recovered directly from the printer's memory.

Hi,

The faxes that are not printed remain in the memory. They can be deleted, see manual.
Data such as the fax number or name are retained.
Only in the event of a power failure = unplugging this data is lost. Keyword: Reset printer to factory settings or recycle printer.

User Guide, page  52, "Set up backup fax"

• NOTE: If backup fax is enabled and you turn the printer off, all faxes stored in
  memory are deleted, including any unprinted faxes that you might have received
  while the printer was in an error condition.
