Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

macOS 10.15 Catalina

I was able to scan well using the HP Smart App on my iPhone, but when I performed the exact same scan from my MacBook Pro (yes, latest version of Catalina) the scanned file had horizontal lines across every page. and was useless,  All devices were on same wifi network, scanning same document. 

Both apps appear to be latest versions.

@Paulshel, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand the scans from the Mac have a vertical line. The HP Smart app is not compatible with macOS for this model printer.

 

Update the printer firmware if available

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

 

Kindly use the HP Easy Scan app to scan from your Mac. 

You may download this from the App Store.

 

Or, use the Apple Image Capture app to scan.
