Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

The printhead on my HP 8610 is gone though I can still scan things as before. Email fax has a server connection problem. Incoming faxes no longer get through. In the set-up, I deactivated the printing option but when I test the set-up, I get a server connection error.

Let's remove and add web services:

 

To remove Web Services, complete the following steps: 1. From the printer control panel display, touch (HP ePrint), and then touch Settings. 2. Touch Remove Web Services.

 

The printer control panel provides an easy way to set up and manage Web Services. To set up Web Services, complete the following steps:

 

1. Make sure the printer is connected to the Internet using either an Ethernet or wireless connection. 2. From the printer control panel, touch (print apps) or (HP ePrint). 3. Touch Yes to accept the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services. 4. In the Auto Update screen, touch Yes to allow the printer to automatically check for and install product updates.

 

NOTE: If a printer update is available, the printer will download and install the update, and then restart. You will have to repeat the instructions from step 1 to set up HP ePrint.

 

NOTE: If prompted for proxy settings and if your network uses proxy settings, follow the onscreen instructions to set up a proxy server. If you do not have the proxy details, contact your network administrator or the person who set up the network.

 

5. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup.

I replaced the HP 8610 with the newer HP 7855, twice as expensive. Where can I find the Digital Fax software that will allow me to save faxes to email and pdf. Thanks.

I did a clean install of all HP software for the 3855 replacement. Though I'm on a network, the HP utility only gives me the choice of saving to a folder, not the save to Email/pdf I had with the 8610. What next to get back full digital archiving? Thanks.

There is a n additional problem to my brand-new 7855's digital fax issue. Scans and copies come trough streaked with a single black line running down the page. There’s no dirt on a glass to clean away and I’m plugged directly to the wall outlet.

Many thanks for the info re the lines in copies and scans. But what about the failure of the 7855 replacement to save faxes to email/pdf???

Are you using the HP Smart App or did you download the full feature drivers from the website?
