My Pro 9015 recently stopped printing from the internet. It will print a test page from HP. Also, when it try's to print, it asks for a fax number. This makes me think it's stuck in fax mode.

Hi @jk2136,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 printing issue where print jobs prompt for a fax number instead of printing. Let’s go through a few checks.

Set the Correct Default Printer

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Locate HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 in the list.
  • Ensure you select the printer icon, not the Fax version.
  • Right-click the printer icon.
  • Select Set as default printer.

Select Printer Instead of Fax in Applications

  • Open the document you want to print.
  • Select File > Print.
  • Open the printer selection drop-down list.
  • Choose HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 (Printer).
  • Send the print job again.

Remove Fax Queue if Selected by Default

  • Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Locate HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 Fax.
  • Select it and choose Remove device.
  • Confirm removal.
  • Restart the computer.

Restart Print Spooler

  • Press Windows + R.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter.
  • Locate Print Spooler.
  • Right-click and select Restart.
  • Close the Services window.

Reinstall the Printer

  • Open Settings > Printers & scanners.
  • Remove HP OfficeJet Pro 9015.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Select Add device and reinstall the printer.
  • Print a test page.

I hope this helps.
