Hello, we're using 3rd party cartridges (black only). Today we replaced cartridge for new one and printer shows us something about incompatibility etc.

Tried to insert the same cartridge to another M477dw with older firmware, works fine.

 

So we need to downgrade firmware in our printer.

Can anybody tell me how to do that and where can I found older firmware please?

 

Now we have MAVEDWPP1N001.2228B.00 / 2022-07-06

Another printer has MAVEDWPP1N001.1829A.00 / 2018-06-29

Hello Renecek;

 

Unfortunately that is not an option: normally we strongly recommend to have the latest firmware version installed, as they have some enhancements and in some cases even new features depending of the situation. There are no official resources for general public to retrieve older firmware versions.

 

In addition, we very strongly recommend to install original HP cartridges to prolong printer's life.

 

If your printer is still under warranty you can call technical support for further investigation. If your printer is out of warranty you can take it to a certified repair center for deeper inspection.
