Questions for fax transmissions on distinctive ring line.

I have a HP MFP M225dn laser printer with fax capability.
Have a landline telephone service with normal voice service and I just added fax service with distinctive ring. Have not not received the telephone cable and splitter from Amazon yet to connect the printer to the phone line.

While I'm waiting, I have some questions about faxing on a distinctive ring line.

1. Assume the printer's fax answers the distinctive ring (double ring) and a fax transmission is being received. If someone calls our regular phone line (single ring), what normally happens?

2. Assume I'm sending the fax to someone and the fax transmission is in progress. If someone calls our regular phone (single ring), what normally happens?

If both lines share the same phone # then the caller will receive a line busy tone while the fax is in use ( sending or receiving)
