I recently copied a spice bottle's Label after peeling it off the jar.  I want to transfer the text to another bottle of a spice rack.  How do you reduce the text size on the original copy?  I have a HP OfficeJet 5255 All-In-One.

I recently copied a spice bottle's Label after peeling it off the jar.

I want to transfer the text to another bottle of a spice rack.

How do you reduce the text size on the original copy?

I have a HP OfficeJet 5255 All-In-One.

What you do depends on what you are trying to accomplish, the Operating System, the file type (kind of saved file) you have, and the tools (apps) you are using.

These might be two or more different things.

If you just want to print the label at a different size, do that - open and print the saved copy of the label file at a percentage of the original to shrink the label.

OR

If you want to change the size of the text only,

You need to make a copy of your copied image file.

Prepare the new copy of the label to receive the edited text at the new size > add the newly sized text

A couple of general examples...

HP Smart - Windows

Add text to a previously saved image file

Open HP Smart

Select Scan > Set Preset to Photo

Import the image file you want to edit, possibly a copy of the original that no longer includes the text you want to replace.

Select to Edit > Select option Text

Add the desired Text to the label image

Click Done and Select next option > Print / Save / Share (to email)

Example - HP Smart - Windows - Scan > Import > Edit

HP_Smart_W10_Scan_Edit_Image_Set_10HP_Smart_W10_Scan_Edit_Image_Set_10

HP Smart - Mobile

HP Smart Mobile does not include quite the number of options available to HP Smart running in Windows.

The app does include a rudimentary set of manual Resize options.

Remember that HP Smart Mobile requires the paper size / type to be set before opening the content to be printed.

Print saved file in a different size

Example - HP Smart Mobile > Print Photos > Open File to print > Click Print Icon > Transform > Resize & Move > Select Resize option

HP_Smart_Mobile_Image_Print_Resize-Move_5HP_Smart_Mobile_Image_Print_Resize-Move_5

I have had HP printers in the past that let you select to either Reduce/Increase the size of the image (and text with it). This function is either non existent or hard to do on the HP OfficeJet 5255 All-In-One.

The user manual describes how the Copy command works on this printer.

True - some printers do offer fewer options for Copy..
