I need to add an email to my printer so I can scan documents

Here are the exact steps to add an email address to your printer so you can scan documents directly to email:

 

  1. On the printer’s control panel, press the Home or Setup button.
  2. Navigate to Scan or Scan to Email.
  3. Select Email Setup or Outgoing Email Profiles.
  4. Choose Add New Profile.
  5. Enter the following details carefully:
    • Display Name: The name you want shown on the printer when selecting the email.
    • Email Address: The sender’s email address.
    • SMTP Server: Enter the outgoing mail server for your email provider (for example, smtp.gmail.com).
    • Port Number: Commonly 465 or 587 depending on your provider.
    • Authentication: Enable if your provider requires login.
    • Username and Password: Enter the credentials for the email account.
  6. Save the profile once all fields are completed.
  7. Test by scanning a document and selecting the newly added email profile.

If the printer prompts for security settings, ensure SSL/TLS is enabled for secure email transmission.
