ADF SKIPS PARTIAL PAGES. WHEN PRINTING 10-20 PAGES PDF FILES COULD SHOW 25 PAGES OF WHICH THERE ARE 10 HALF PAGES SCANNED. I AM A NSA AND NEED TO SCAN SIGNED DOCS TO THE TITLE COMPANIES.USED TO WORK FINE UNTIL RECENTLY. BROUGHT TO A COMPUTER REPAIR SHOP AND THEY COULDN'T FIND THE ANSWER. JUST PLACED AN ORDER FOR A SEPARATE SCANNER AS I CANNOT USE MY HP 8740 FOR SCANNING MULTIPLE DOCS. YES MY SCANNER GLASS WORKS FINE FOR ONE PAGE AT A TIME, BUT NOT FOR 150-200 PAGES.  ANY SUGGESSTIONS.

Please try these steps to troubleshoot your issue: 

  

Check for Obstructions in the ADF:

  • Ensure that there are no obstructions or debris in the ADF that might be causing the pages to not feed correctly.
  • Carefully examine the rollers and cleaning them if necessary, as dirty rollers can often lead to feed issues.

Reset the Printer:

  • Sometimes, resetting the printer can resolve temporary issues.
  • Turn off the printer, and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

Adjust Scan Settings:

  • Use the HP software to check and adjust your scan settings.
  • Ensure settings such as "Skip Blank Pages" or similar options are not inadvertently causing issues.
  • If scanning via a specific software, check if there are any relevant settings which might be influencing how pages are recognized.

Clean the ADF:

  • Even if the glass scanner bed works fine, dirt or misalignment in the ADF can cause scanning issues.
  • Follow the printer’s manual to clean the ADF thoroughly.

Perform a Printer Diagnostic:

  • Use any built-in diagnostic tools or software provided by HP to help identify the problem.
