I use HPSmart for my 8025 Officejet. I am MAC user. When I scan a doc, the document can print. When I save to pdf-file... the saved file blank. Somehow, I am not saving what appears on my screen (the successfully scanned document). How to diagnose? how to fix??

@Griz67, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Have you tried Apple Image Capture? Can you save the scanned document using the Image Capture App?
Meanwhile, ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
If you still have issues, remove the HP Smart App and reinstall it.
Try scanning.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanx for the reply and suggestions.
I have: 1) deleted and reinstalled HPSmart....2) updated firmware for printer....3) IOS is uptodate..... YET the problem persisted. So I did a work-around, by downloading HP EasyScan. It works consistently on my MAC and saves all the documents. So the HPSmart is still loaded, and reads my ink levels etc.... but I avoid it when I want to scan something. Essentially, I did not solve the problem, but found a bypass Hiway.
