We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Laserjet M1217nfw MFP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Trying to install Laserjet M1217nfw MFP to new Windows 10 PC using wireless interface.

The printer is installed and does print but I cannot get scanning to work.

Scan doctor says the software is incomplete and directs me to the HP web site, I have downloaded the HP Windows 10 recommended "Complete Software" software/drivers then  launched it on the pc,  it seems to execute, I  removed and reinstalled the printer in windows printer manager multiple times, no luck scanning.

The scanner is still not recognized . I have followed the support steps including activating WIA and restarting printer services etc.

The printer and scanner  works great with older windows 8.1 PC.

I am out of ideas on what to do or try.

 

I have the original CD/DVD however the install programs do not execute on the new windows 10 PC.

Hi,

Remove any instance of your printer from Devices and Printers, for a USB connection be sure to unplug it prior to removing the device.


Click the Start button and type %temp% into the search bar, then open the shown Temp folder.

Open the latest HP installation folder which begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234)
Double click HpSetup.exe, follow the installation and check for any difference.
