Hi @JDionne4310,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Scanning a document from your HP printer to your computer and saving it to a folder is a straightforward process, and I’ll walk you through it step by step.

Step-by-Step Instructions (Windows)

  1. Place the Document
    • Lift the scanner lid.
    • Place your document face down on the glass, aligning it with the guides (usually marked near the edges).

  2. Open HP App
  3. Start the Scan
    • Click Scan > Scanner Glass.
    • Choose Document or Photo depending on what you're scanning.
    • Adjust settings like resolution, color, and file type (PDF or JPEG).

  4. Preview and Save
    • After scanning, you’ll see a preview.
    • Click Save or Share.
    • Choose Save to File and select the folder on your computer where you want to store it.

Step-by-Step Instructions (macOS)

  1. Use HP Smart or Image Capture
    • Open HP Smart or Image Capture (built-in app).
    • Select your printer and choose Scan.

  2. Scan and Save
    • Choose Flatbed as the source.
    • Click Scan, then Save to your desired folder.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
