I can't get my ADF to pull documentsfor scan to computer. I load the documents in the ADF. The notification comes on "Original Loaded." I select "scan to computer." When I hit scan, it scans the glass. No error message, just no attempt to ever pull from ADF. 

 

When I load the same original in the ADF and hit copy, no problem. Pulls it. Copies it. Fine.

 

How do I tell the printer I want it to scan to my computer from the ADF?

 

Note: I was on the phone with HP for over an hour the other day. I had to shut the printer off, turn it back on, etc. three times. So, I'm not interested in the "have you checked if it's plugged in" answer. I am competent enough to understand the techy version. Thanks.

I saw your message about not being able to scan from the ADF however, can copy from the ADF just fine.

 

As for the scanning from the ADF, you will need to open up the HP scanning software on your computer and check the scan settings to scan from the ADF and not the scanner bed. The copies are not managed through the software like the scans are, which is why you don't have an issue with the copies pulling in and feeding through fine with the ADF.
