HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile, Officejet Pro X476
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

After enabling two factor authentication for my Apple ID, I can no longer scan to email from either HP Officejet Pro X476 or from Officejet 250 Mobile. HP scan set up is correct, or was, but I now get the message that printer cannot connect to server. In the Scan to Email set up, server authentication is turned on and user name and password are correctly filled in with my apple ID and password. Is it possible to scan to email with two factor configuration? If not, can it be turned off for email?

I have seen threads covering this issue that advise turning off two factor authentication. But that is no longer possible, as I understand it.

Any ideas?

Two Step Authentication is set on your email service / account.

For example:

I checked one of my accounts that uses Gmail.  Gmail still allows "Two Step" to be switched off.

Open your Google Account (Gmail) >

Click your Account icon > Google Account >

Click Sign-in & Security

Adjust options as desired / needed

Yahoo "how-to" indicates the setting must be switched on (and one would think it can be then switched off).

Add two-step verification for extra security

I would think the easier option is to create an email address for use with your Scan to Email application for which you do not need the extra security measures.
