My printer is 9120e.  Scanning worked fine and then abruptly stopped working right.  It only saves the first page.  The printer screen asks if I want to add anything more, I say ADD and put the next page on the flatbed, then it acts like it's scanning but when I'm done I only have the first page.

I understand you're having trouble with your HP ENVY Inspire 9120e where the "Scan to Computer" function only saves the first page, even though you're selecting "Add" on the printer screen. Let's get this sorted out.

Use the HP Smart App for Multi-Page Scanning

The most reliable way to scan multiple pages into a single file is through the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 PC.

Download or open the HP Smart app: HP Smart

Open the app and click on “Scan”.

Place the first page on the scanner glass or in the ADF (if available), then click Scan.

After the scan completes, click “+ Add” to scan the next page.

Repeat until all pages are scanned, then click Save and choose PDF to save all pages in one file.


Check for Software or Firmware Updates

Make sure your printer and HP Smart app are up to date:

  • Update printer firmware via the printer control panel or HP Smart.
  • Update HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store. HP Smart
