I do not see where you mentioned your Printer Model or Operating System / version.

If you did so, the post failed to include the information.

Based on what we know --

Simple AI query

hp printer "Scan to Email"

AI - Short Answer

To scan a document to email using an HP printer, ensure your printer is connected to the network and use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to initiate the scan. Follow the prompts to select the scan settings and email the scanned document directly from the app or printer.

-- What else? --

This is one of those questions that cannot be fully answered without knowing the Printer Model, the Operating System / version, and the type of "Scan to Email" app or software you are using.

For example,

Some printers support - and can be configured to use -- SMTP Scan to Email in the Embedded Web Server (EWS).  Of those printers that support SMTP Scan to Email profiles, there are differences in the way the Profiles are created.  In general, SMTP Profile Scan to Email requires an App Password that is used place of the regular email account login password.

If you are running a supported version of Windows -- or perhaps a supported mobile OS -- your printer and your application / software might support "Share" to email.  The configuration requirements differ by printer and OS / version.  In general, the various methods all require that the printer and device (computer, tablet, phone) both be on the same network.

General Example - HP Smart - Windows - Scan Photo - Share (to Email)
