Hello, Just today I encountered an error while using scan to email.  It said" Username or password is incorrect. Ensure both user account and password are valid.".  I did ensure that the email address and password are correct, but I still get the same issue.  I also tried using another email address and made sure they were correct, but still get the same error message. Help

Hi,

For Yahoo, follow the included support document and Generate an app password, then use the generated password instead of your standard email password as the password, use the entire email address as the user.

 

If it fails, please include a clear description of the exact error and the exact used SMTP settings (e.g. SMTP Server, Port, TLS/SSL, Authentication settings, etc)

Hi,

What email service do you use? a such may occur due to using security settings for your email account which are not supported by the printer.

Hello, I've been using yahoo.  I also used google mail. but still the same error

For Yahoo, generate and use an App Specific password, it will fail with the standard security password:

Generate an App Specific Password

 

For Google, ensure its security settings as following:

 

First, open the following link and login to the same account as you set for the printer.

Note: if you are connected, sign out from your account, select your account and manually enter the password to ensure you indeed use the correct password, then click on Security from the left pane:
https://myaccount.google.com/security

Within the Signing in to Google section, check the "2-Step Verification" velue.

 

If it is set as "On", create and use an App-Specific Password with the printer:

If it is set as "Off", Within the Less secure app access section ensure that the feature is on.

 

If it is Off, click on Turn on access (not recommended) and toggle on the feature. Otherwise the verification will fail.
Once you are done run a test for the outgoing user profile and check if the problem been resolved.

Hello, I was able to use google and it worked. I still have a hard time setting up using the yahoo. I'm not sure what you meant for yahoo.
