To reset the settings and authenticate the email password for the "Scan to Email" feature on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 Series printer, follow these steps:

Resetting Scan to Email Settings:

Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
  • On the printer control panel, find the printer’s IP address by navigating to the Network or Wireless settings menu.
  • Open a web browser on your computer and enter the printer’s IP address into the address bar to access the EWS.

Navigate to the Scan to Email Setup:

  • In the EWS, go to the Scan tab.
  • Select Scan to Email Setup.

Reset Email Settings:

  • Look for an option to reset or clear the current email settings. This might be labeled as Reset Settings or similar.
  • Confirm the reset if prompted.

Re-authenticate Email Password:

Set Up Scan to Email Again:

  • In the EWS, under the Scan to Email Setup section, select Outgoing Email Profiles.
  • Click Add New Profile or edit the existing profile.

Enter Email Information:

  • Email Address: Enter the email address you want to use for sending scans.
  • SMTP Server: Enter the SMTP server address for your email provider (e.g., smtp.gmail.com for Gmail).
  • SMTP Port: Enter the port number used by your SMTP server (e.g., 465 for SSL, 587 for TLS).
  • Authentication: Check the box for authentication and enter the email address and the password for the account.
  • Sender Name: Enter a name that will appear as the sender of the scanned documents.

Authentication and Security Settings:

  • Ensure that the SSL/TLS option is enabled if required by your email provider.
  • Enter the correct authentication information (email address and password).

Test the Configuration:

  • Use the test feature to send a test email to ensure that the configuration is correct and the email settings are working.
