Hi @Amorette,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It seems you're encountering an issue with your scanner, suggesting that a restart of the printer may be necessary. If the problem persists even after restarting, you may need to troubleshoot further. Here's a guide on how to make copies using an HP Scanner:

How to Make Copies with an HP Scanner

Load the Original Document:

  • Place the document with the top edge forward in the scanner's insertion slot.
  • Gently slide the document into the slot until it's pulled into the start position.

Select Copying Options:

  • Open the Copy tab on the scanner's interface.
  • Choose between Color or B&W (black and white) copying based on your document's type.

Set Copy Settings:

  • Choose your Type of Original template from the available list.
  • Adjust the Lightness to make the copy lighter or darker as needed.
  • Set the Input Size, usually equal to the size of your original document.
  • Determine the Output Size for your copy, which can also be scaled if necessary.
  • Select the Paper Type best suited for your print job.

Finalise Copy Settings:

  • Use the Quality button to adjust copy quality.
  • For multiple copies, set the number of copies desired.
  • Use the Scale function to determine copy size as needed.

Initiate the Copy Process:

  • Press the Copy button to start copying.
  • Optionally, use the Preview button to view a "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) image of your copy before printing.

Abort or Reset:

  • Use the Stop button if you need to cancel the copying process.
  • Press the Reset button to clear settings and revert to default values.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
