Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 11

Just pruchased a HP Laser Jet Pro MFP 3301.  Worked fine for about 2 weeks, and now keeps getting a scanner busy error message.  Have updated firmware according to HP, deleted drivers, and loaded again. Turned on, off computer, printer, both and seaparately, and unplugged everything from hydro.  Also have changed from Wi-Fi to USB.  Nothing will get rid of the error and let the scanner work again.

Help please.

@jakeythebear, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Scanner Busy Error on HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3301!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

When your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3301 experiences a "scanner busy" error, there are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue. Here are some detailed steps to help you fix this problem:

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve such issues.
  • You can check for updates on the HP support website and follow the instructions to install any available updates.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the printer and the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and the power source, and then turn on the printer.

Driver Reinstallation:

  • Uninstall the printer driver and software from your computer.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Download and install the latest drivers from the HP support website.

Check Scanner Settings and Connections:

  • Ensure the document to be scanned is properly placed on the scanner glass.
  • Make sure the scanner lid is closed correctly.
  • Verify that all cables are securely connected (if using USB, ensure it's properly inserted).

Switch Connection Methods:

  • Since you've already switched from Wi-Fi to USB with no success, try connecting back to Wi-Fi, or vice versa.
  • Ensure there are no network conflicts or issues with the USB port being used.

Check for Conflicting Programs:

  • Make sure no other scanning or printing jobs are running.
  • Close any other applications that might be accessing the scanner.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
