Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

After reinstalling printer, scanner does not work - "scanner disabled".  Used (wireless) with an iMac computer for which there seems to be no "Scanner Doctor" (from HP).   Have since uninstalled and reinstalled with no change.  Printer purchased (new) in June 2018.  What to do?

@Tygrpawz, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand you are not able to scan from your MAC. Let us try these steps:

 

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

 

Which app are you using to scan?

Refer to this document. Use any one method shown in this document - How to Scan

 

If you have installed the printer using AirPrint driver, make sure under 'kind', select 'Bonjour multifunction'.

Refer to this document to know how to install the printer using AirPrint driver - Printing with Apple AirPrint

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
