We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

It's connected to the laptop wirelessly.  N.B. it produces the same brown/blank image when you try to COPY a letter or SCAN the letter.  

It scans a letter as a brown image (it looks like a piece of brown woollen cloth has been put across the glass of the scanner!)

Purchased in 2008 in USA (and brought back to the UK)

Also, it looks as though the image has been emailed successfully but nothing arrives in your Inbox.

 

Any ideas what the problem is?

Just to clarify -this is the only image that is ever produced when I try to copy or scan a doc (either via the glass plate or the top feeder tray).  This is despite the light bar lighting up and moving along the length of the glass as normal.  

The printer/scanner was bought in 2008 in the USA but the Scanner function has never actually been tried until now (so it hasn't worn the mechanism out). 

Has the camera failed, maybe?

I've tried using the SCAN TO EMAIL function and it looks like it's sent the email but then nothing ever turns up in your INBOX.
However the SCAN TO FILE option works OK and the image appears on the Computer's hard drive.

N.B. I've already tried running this troubleshooting software several times, as below:


"use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity or for scanning related issue. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from here. 

1)Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

2)Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

3)If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.

4)If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

5)If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes. If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes. Try to scan."

I've also tried each of the following procedures (none of which solved the problem):

Can you please try to restart the printer using power cycle:
Turn the Printer ON and let it settle down.
When the printer is Fully turned ON and idle, remove the power cord from the back of the printer.
Wait for 60 seconds.
Plug in the power cord into the back of the printer.
Turn ON the printer.
