Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to check / update / test your Scan to Email profiles.

If your email supports Two-Step verification,

The printer does not support this feature.

Log into your email provider

Set the Security settings:

If using Two-Step verification, be sure to set / use the Apps Password

If not using Two-Step verification, set "Less Secure"  (See NOTE)

 

NOTE::  Your email provider might shut off "Less Secure" if it is not being used.  Log in and check - if necessary, re-enable the option.

 

Example - EWS > Scan > Scan to Email
