Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

After using the scanner on my HP Envy 7640 consistently for a few years, it now reads "The printer could not connect to Web Services. Web Services might be busy or temporarily unavailable."    I've tried everything possible to remedy the problem, to no avail.  The only way I can scan is to go to the EMS site itself.  (Wireless printing still works fine.)  

 

Anyone else have this problem?

I understand the printer is not connected to the web services. Let us try these steps:

 

Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC

Make sure the printer is connected to the internet.

 

Restart web services

Click here to know how to turn off web services. Refer to this document to know how to turn it on.

 

If the issue persists, perform the steps mentioned in this document - Cannot Connect to Web Services

I had the same problem, one day it worked the next day I could not scan. I have a HP Envy 7645. I selected “setup “ then printer maintenance, then restore, then “restore settings “ (not “factory restore defaults “). Further steps will walk you through it. Done in less than 2 minutes. Hope this helps.
