Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP ENVY Photo 7855. I tried to scan a small stack of documents to my computer as JPG. After it scanned all of them it said "sent to LAPTOP" but I can't find it in any part of my computer where it normally sends files when I use the glass top scanner.

Hi @UriahH,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer scanned documents and sent them to your laptop but you can't find them, you can try the following steps to locate the scanned files:

Search for the Files: Use the search function in File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) to search for the scanned files. Use keywords from the document names or search for files modified around the time you scanned the documents.

Check the Default Save Location: By default, scanned files are often saved to the "Documents" or "Pictures" folder on your computer. Check these folders to see if the scanned files were saved there.

Scan to a Specific Folder: Check if you specified a specific folder on your laptop for the scanned files to be saved. The scanned files should be in that folder.

Check the HP Smart App: If you used the HP Smart app to scan the documents, check the app's interface for the location where the files were sent.

Check the HP Printer Software: Open the HP printer software on your laptop and look for any scanning history or options to view scanned files. The software might provide information on where the files were saved.

Check Recycle Bin or Trash: If you accidentally deleted the files, check the Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash (Mac) to see if they can be restored.

Re-scan the Documents: If you still can't find the scanned files, try re-scanning the documents and pay attention to where the files are being saved. You might have missed the location during the initial scan.

If none of these steps help you locate the scanned files, please let me know, and I can provide further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
