We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 All-in-One Printer

I can no longer open the HP Smart App and scan from my printer.  I can still go to my printer and select scan to a device and I can see my laptop device.  When I select scan on my printer, the document is scanned and ends up in my windows scan queue.  Why can I no longer scan via the HP Smart App.   I like to be able to add docs to a scan, re-order, etc.

I see the "Windows" part in your message.

Did not see that you included the Windows version.

The version can make a difference.

If you end up needing more help, please tell us:

  • Which version of Windows you are running on the computer.
  • Whether you have installed the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software (in addition to HP Smart).

 

HP Smart is run on your computer or mobile device -- it is not started on the printer.

 

A scan job initiated on the printer would -- assuming the full driver printer software is installed on the computer -- let you select the computer, scan the content, and then send the data to the computer.  Not sure how the scanned content would end up in the Print Queue.  ?

 

HP Smart might need to be Reset.

Consider

 

Restart everything, including the router that controls your network.

 

No Joy?

Reset HP Smart Application

 

Reset the HP Smart application - This action removes the app data.

 

Open Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

Search and Find HP Smart in the apps list

Open Advanced options > Reset the app

 

Restart the computer and log in

Open HP Smart > Sign in > Add Printer(s)

If the app Reset does not work by itself,

Next,

Uninstall the HP Smart App from Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

Restart the computer and log in

“Get” a new copy of the HP Smart application from the Microsoft Store

Open HP Smart > Sign in > Add Printer(s)
