Product: HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

Up until a few days ago, I could scan and fax with my envy 7855.  Today, i got the message that i need to download  the 123.hp.com/setup, which I tried unsuccessfully to reinstall. The process goes fairly smoothly until i get to a screen statin "HP product improvement study...." and it seems to be asking for a password I dont have.  I am also getting a message that says "HP easy start 9 was prevented from modifying apps on you Mac". HELP
