Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Scanning legal documents - 8.5 x 14 -- I can't get a document to scan 8.5x14 --- it always ends up at a out 8.5 X 11.7. I changed the setting to 8.5x14 and I get a message that I can't scan that size.  ok, now the question is HOW... i've tried it a dozen times and it scans / the scan i end up seeing is short of the 14 inches - looks like it scans 11.7 and leaves off a portion of my document - the portion with signatures on it. I am using a HP ENVY 6455e, on a PC.

How can I condense the legal doc to be a 8.5x11?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

The printer settings need to be set to Legal before using the Document feeder to scan Legal size document.

This relevant example shows how to set the settings (then can copy or scan with Legal size paper):

Hope that helps!
