I have a HP5530 All In One Printer Scanner that I have loved for years!  Today it just started to give me issues.  I can no longer scan or copy documents.  I can print in black and white and color from my computer.  When I scan or copy it comes out all black.  Please help!  What happened?  I have tried to reset it.  I have tried to reset it to factory settings.  I am trying to not panic but I am at a loss for what happened.  The scanner light is working.

Since you mentioned that, you were able to print but having issues with scan and copying, to isolate the issue, let's perform a few steps. from this document and see the results. 

 

You may also refer to this document for other print quality issues. 

 

You may also install HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows: The HP Print and Scan Doctor was designed by HP to provide users with troubleshooting and problem-solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP print and Scan products connected to Windows-based computers. Simply run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions.
